Admission Policy and Procedure

Junior / Senior Schools

Students are tentatively accepted at Haywood Christian Academy after completing application forms, paying application and registration fees, being tested and having an interview with school personnel.  Final acceptance of students is contingent upon verification of student records, testing, interview information and approval of the Admissions Committee.  New students will be on probation for 60 days for academics and conduct.

Parents are required to sign the Home and School Commitment.  Students are required to sign the Student Honor Covenant.  No student will be admitted or allowed to remain at HCA who does not agree and cooperate with the overall purpose and program of the school.  These commitments will be renewed yearly.  No student achieving less than a 2.0 GPA in core classes will be invited to return the following year.

Haywood Christian Academy's academic program is designed for the average to above average student.  We regret there are no provisions for children with severe learning disabilities.

The application fee is non-refundable when the student is accepted in the requested grade.   In the event that further evaluation and/or services are recommended or placement in a lower grade/course is indicated, fees may be refunded if parents choose not to enroll the child at HCA.

Pre-Kindergarten Enrichment Program

To enroll in Haywood Christian Academy's Pre-K Enrichment Program, you will need to contact the school by telephone.  An on-site visit will be scheduled, where you will receive an application packet.  At the time of the visit, the Program Director will conduct an interview with the parents, while the classroom teacher will conduct an evaluation of the student.  The Pre-K staff will meet and review the applications upon receiving them.  If your child is accepted, you will receive an official acceptance letter from our school and you will receive a Parent Handbook.

To enroll your child in the HCA Pre-K program, your child must be 3 years of age by October 31st, and completely potty trained.  Potty trained is defined as wearing underwear at all times.  Children must be able to clean themselves appropriately and dress themselves with little assistance.  If your child has more than 3 accidents within a week during the first 3 weeks of school, we will ask that you pull your child out of the program and try again at a later time.
