About HCA
Haywood Christian Academy (HCA) is a private Christian school offering kindergarten through 12th grade in Clyde, North Carolina. Haywood Christian Pre-Kindergarten offers a unique learning experience for 3 and 4-year olds. HCA was established in 2007, when parents and community leaders desired to establish a Christ-centered, community-minded school that was independent of any church affiliation and driven to provide a nationally accredited program.
In 2007, four organizations in our community found themselves pursuing a God-given vision. Woodland Baptist Church was looking for a buyer so they could pursue their vision of a new facility. New Covenant Church was looking for a way to open their doors more to the community. A new Presbyterian church called Providence was looking for a place to worship and fellowship every week. HCA was looking for a campus to pursue its vision of being a leading independent, inter-denominational, innovative Christian school in western North Carolina.
Today, HCA owns the former Woodland Baptist Church campus. Woodland is in their own beautiful new facility with high visibility on NC Highway 209. New Covenant leases to our Pre-Kindergarten through sixth grade classes and hosts a multitude of community programs and meetings. Providence leases from HCA for its weekly services and other events. HCA has found itself in the midst of just what it set out to be - a part of community!
Since 2007,HCA has graduated 44 students. Colleges attended include Pepperdine University, Western Carolina University, East Tennessee State University, Lenior-Rhyne University, Le Tournaeu University, Montreat College and UNC-Asheville. HCA employs over 20 employees, including 16 faculty members, with six holding masters or advanced certifications.
We anticipate more success for the school as we strive to provide an excellent Christian education. We have been blessed to see several children come to know Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. As we teach a biblical world view, we pray that our students gain understanding through Christ, "in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge."
